Focus Tunes

September 15th was the deadline for business extensions. To those of you who aren't accountants, that means businesses who filed an extension had until Monday to file their 2013 tax returns. You would think, with all that extra time, they'd be able to get everything they needed to their accountants in a timely manner so we wouldn't be frantically running around on 9/15 trying to wrap up all these returns. Nope. I put in about sixty hours last week AND came in on Saturday to clean up some of the atrocious messes that were made last year. Well it's Wednesday and everybody is still alive and still has their job so that's a good sign.

I've found when I'm working, or even studying for the CPA exam I get really in the zone listening to movie scores and classical collections. My Colombian friend, Julian, shares this aspect with me, so we are constantly sharing playlists and artists via Spotify to keep each other going Monday through Friday from nine to five. Recently, he shared The Piano Guys which has actively opened a whole new world for me.

These composers manipulate, mix and reproduce sound unlike anything I've ever heard. A collection of talents brought together by the forces of music to construct inspirational pieces of art!

I might be a little bias because I grew up with Beethovan, but I can't help but awe at these guys. They've got a studio engineer that writes music, a cellist that does everything, a solo pianist, and this amazing producer.

Not to mention, his cello is wicked. Moonlight is my favorite track so far (definitely worthy of being added to your work day playlist).  They also have a cover of Adele's Rolling in the Deep and of David Guetta's Titanium that will give you chills.

Happy Focusing!
